Renovation 8,500 SF
Hartman-Cox Architects, LLP
The project included an interior renovation of the Morehead-Cain Foundation spaces on the ground and first floors of the east building totaling approximately 8,500 SF.
The project included hazardous material abatement in the affected areas and selective demolition. The renovated areas included all new HVAC equipment, controls and fire detection. Improvements were made to meet ADA accessibility code, including new exterior ramp access.
Finished products were of high quality, including extensive architectural woodwork, elaborate lighting, and high-end floor finishes. The renovation created a very comfortable environment for the Morehead-Cain Scholars and Faculty. The end user spaces included a scholar’s lounge, catering kitchen, kitchenette, faculty offices, conference rooms, multipurpose lecture hall, storage, and new private and public restrooms.
