M. Dwayne Rakestraw

Title: Senior Project Manager

Dwayne holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. His 20+ years of experience includes hands-on work in all aspects of the construction process for many types of projects including Commercial, Institutional, and Historical Renovations. He began his career in construction very early.  He worked his way through college for Koger Properties and was soon performing all the tasks of Field Engineer and Office Engineer. While at North Carolina State University he also held the position of Undergraduate Research Assistant and developed modern surveying examples for a new computer course at North Carolina State University. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University he was the Student Leader on a research project for Dow Chemical that investigated the durability performance of structural adhesive joints and maintained computer and data equipment for the Adhesion Science Lab. Immediately after leaving Graduate School in 1994, Dwayne joined the New Atlantic Contracting Team as Project Engineer and worked on almost all aspects of many projects that are not listed below.
