John R. (Ricky) Adkins

Title: Executive Vice President

Ricky holds a B.S. degree in Building Construction from Virginia Tech and has over 26 years of experience in the construction industry.  Fourteen years were with the same firm before becoming a founding member of New Atlantic Contracting in 2002.   His role as Executive Vice President is to oversee project management operations, administration, and the firm’s comprehensive safety program.  In addition to that responsibility, Ricky has proven his expertise to deliver successful projects from preconstruction through construction and closeout.  He has successfully built and nurtured many long term client relationships.  He has completed work in both the private and public sectors on commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, student housing, and office projects.

Ricky is well versed in all of the industry’s project delivery methods and his philosophy of personal attention as described in his own words “Construction is a lot about brick and mortar, but it is also a lot about people too.”  New Atlantic Contracting operates with this mindset and provides the personal attention to build or strengthen relationships resulting in the success of all projects.


In addition to Ricky's operations leadership role, he also is a member of the NC Construction Professiona's Network [CPN].
