Assistant Project Superintendent

Description

Assists the Project Superintendent in directing and coordinating the work of subcontractors and trade laborers.

It is the Assistant Project Superintendent's responsibility to ensure safety, schedule, delivery, and quality of work. In their area of responsibility, they will supervise trade labor. A growth position for future supervisory positions is assigned to this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Establish schedules and sequences of work. Maintain the project schedule by developing and implementing recovery strategies.

Schedule, deliver, coordinate logistics, control quality, and determine employee staffing levels for trade employees.

To promote a coordinated project operation, supervise the work of assigned trades.

Resolve local area issues related to procedures, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule, and all other appropriate matters.

In connection with field issues, communicate with owners and architects/engineers. Solve such issues by investigating and resolving them.

Understand all contracts, subcontracts, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, schedules, and local codes.

Ensure that the work is installed in accordance with the approved contract documents

Provide oversight of the site safety program and ensure subcontractors comply with all applicable safety codes and regulations.

Qualifications

Four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Proven abilities in written and verbal communication as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills by reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
