Carthage, NC: New Atlantic is proud to announce the successful completion of the Moore County New Courthouse & Renovation project in Carthage, North Carolina. This transformative civic build includes a new 124,000 square foot, five-story courthouse and a 27,000 square foot renovation of the original 1977 facility, bringing the total project scope to 151,000 square feet across two phases.
Led by Project Director Dwayne Rakestraw and a dedicated team of New Atlantic professionals, the project overcame tight downtown site constraints and complex structural sequencing. From concrete basement pours and five stair/elevator shafts to steel framing and full MEP upgrades, every detail reflects precision, coordination, and purpose.
Delivered through general contracting, the project was completed on schedule and showcases New Atlantic’s commitment to civic infrastructure and community impact. The renovation phase included a full overhaul of the basement and first floor, along with MEP replacements on the second floor of the existing courthouse.
We extend our sincere thanks to our subcontractor partners for their craftsmanship and dedication throughout this build. Special appreciation to our architectural partners at Moseley Architects and team for your design leadership and collaboration. And thank you to Moore County for your continued trust in New Atlantic.
This new courthouse stands as a lasting civic landmark for Carthage and Moore County, built to serve the community for generations to come.
