New Atlantic Completes Wesleyan Christian Academy Commons Improvements Project

High Point, NC: New Atlantic is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Commons Improvements project at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, North Carolina. This 3,200 square foot interior renovation transformed former classroom space into a vibrant commons and gathering area designed to foster student connection and community engagement.

The newly renovated space features integrated benches, a snack bar, and planters—creating a welcoming environment for informal gatherings, study breaks, and school events. To support the open layout, New Atlantic temporarily shored 200 linear feet of roof structure to remove a load-bearing concrete masonry wall, replacing it with structural steel columns and beams.

Delivered through the Construction Manager at Risk (CM at Risk) method, the project was completed on schedule and reflects New Atlantic’s commitment to precision, collaboration, and quality in K–12 learning environments.

“We’re honored to support Wesleyan Christian Academy’s vision for a more connected and student-centered campus,” said John Morrison, President of New Atlantic. “This project reflects the power of thoughtful design and teamwork in creating spaces that serve both purpose and community.”

Architectural design was led by Freeman Kennett Architects of High Point, NC.
