Mary Key's Path to Project Manager
After graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Architecture, Mary began her career at architectural firms. While at Dewberry, Larry Hasson, whom many of you know, suggested she reach out to New Atlantic. She had decided to leave the Dark Side of Architecture for the Bright Side of General Contracting. We are certainly glad she took Larry's advice.
Since joining New Atlantic, Mary has made significant contributions to several successful projects. She played an important role in the restoration of Augsburg Church. That project received the CPN STAR Award, and we expect it to be a strong contender for a CAGC Pinnacle Award. She also worked on the Opportunity School for Cabarrus County.
Winning New Work and Building Teams
Mary has been instrumental in several successful project interviews. She helped our teams secure the new $25 million A.L. Brown High School project in Kannapolis. She also helped win the Good Shepherd Church project in Raleigh. Her ability to connect with clients and present our strengths has been a real asset to the company.
Mary is currently a member of the Bernard Chiller Plant project team at UNC Chapel Hill. This project is highly technical and complex. It will continue to provide opportunities for her to further develop her project management skills. Her promotion to Project Manager is a reflection of her hard work, her growth, and the trust she has earned across every team she joins.
