The Augsburg Lutheran Church Campus Renewal Project was a comprehensive, multi-phase modernization and restoration effort involving portions of the campus originally constructed in 1927, 1955, and 2000. The scope included approximately 32,000 square feet of interior renovation and 1.1 acres of exterior improvements. Major components included full restoration of the historic Sanctuary, revitalization of youth and community ministry spaces, improvements to site circulation, and extensive stone facade repair and preservation.
Construction activities took place while the church remained fully operational. This required thoughtful planning, clear communication, and close coordination with the Owner, Michael Graves, and key members of the congregation. The completed project preserves the historic character of the campus while enhancing functionality and supporting the church’s long-term outreach to the Winston-Salem community.
