New Atlantic was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the 110,000‑square‑foot Briarwood Elementary School replacement project, delivered through a carefully phased approach on the site of the former school campus.
The project was executed in three distinct phases, allowing construction to progress while maintaining continuity for students, staff, and school operations.
Phase 1 included the construction of the new elementary school building along with associated site work in the immediate area. This phase was completed in time to support student and staff occupancy for the 2021–2022 school year.
Running concurrently, Phase 1A was completed in the summer of 2021 and focused on removing existing learning cottages used after the 2020–2021 school year. This work enabled the construction of critical site infrastructure, including the entry drive, parent drop‑off area, and parking, all essential for school operations during the 2021–2022 academic year.
Phase 2 encompasses the abatement and demolition of the original school building. Following demolition, the remainder of the site is being completed, including bus facilities, parking areas, playgrounds, fields, and expanded drop‑off and parking areas, resulting in a fully functional and modernized educational environment.
