Iredell County, specifically Statesville, NC, has seen a slow and steady growth in their population over the years. The need for a new middle school was desperately needed, and in 2014 the new School Bond was approved by voters.

The Statesville Middle School is in need of extensive renovations with the majority of the buildings from the 1960s/1970s and Northview IB will move in once the renovations are complete to allow an additional 200-250 students.

Iredell County, specifically Mooresville, NC, has seen a rapid growth in their population with its strong connection in the Charlotte-Metro area.

Currently, students attend the Brawly Middle School that serves over 700 students, and has an age range from the 1960s to the 2000s. The renovations and additions have allowed the capacity to increase to a 997 capacity.

Our volunteer team helped with the renovations, and was excited to see the end result of community’s hard work and dedication. We played a small part in the vision Habitat Forsyth had for this home, and it turned into a wonderful place for the AmeriCorps volunteers.
